DAVID TUTERA UNVEILED

When we were contacted by David Tutera Unveiled about creating a wedding cake for the series, we didn’t know what to expect.  We were told the weddings are designed within a 2 week period, so we’d have about 10 days from the time we received the creative direction to the time we’d be delivering the cake.                    The colors for the wedding were gold and silver, so we designed a custom cake around those colors.  After a few rounds of sketches we finalized the cake design. JUNGLE THEMED BAT MIZVAH

This weekend we created some custom cookies for a wild, jungle-themed bat mizvah party.  The party was complete with macaws, monkeys and even a sloth…Each table was themed to a different animal print, and place setting featured a buttery Original Sugar Cookie with unique animal print.  A delicious and memorable guest favor!

3,300 COOKIES HONORING SHIRLEY MACLAINE

The American Film Institute (AFI) recently honored Shirley MacLaine with its Life Achievement Award. We were honored to have been asked to bake and decorate 3,300 cookies showcasing some of her most memorable films., including Postcards From The Edge, Terms of Endearment and Steel Magnolias.    Our custom cookies, packed in white boxes wrapped with purple ribbons, were set at each place setting at the gala event, as guest favors.  Tonight, TVLand will broadcast the tribute at 9pm.

HEART OF LOS ANGELES

This week we were invited to do a workshop with the kids at HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles).  HOLA is an incredible program that provides underserved youth with exceptional after school programs in academics, arts and athletics.   We were invited to join their monthy “Meet the Artist” series, where local artists share their work with elementary school aged kids.  As it happens, they had just finished a food inspired art exhibit called “We Are What We Eat” – so we were thrilled to talk to them about the art of Modern Bite.   These kids are incredibly artistic and were...
